This is not just another Jacob’s Piano video. For the first time, since starting my channel in 2013, I recorded a video on an acoustic piano. The piano is my own (Yamaha U3) which I acquired back in 2022 after setting up my new studio.
Making a re-recording of one of my most popular performances was a great place to start practicing and test this acoustic setup. Recording acoustically is difficult because it requires high-quality microphones and expertise in how to configure them properly. Also, a proper room is required for recording.
This video is recorded in my living-room and the audio is captured live, so the audio you hear in the video comes directly from what I’m playing. I had expected bad audio quality due to bad room acoustics in the living-room but it ended up sounding just as good as my studio recording, so I decided to use the live audio.
